Who can respond

Choose whether responses are anonymous, email-backed, or limited to signed-in users — and how responses get linked to a customer.

Who can respond

In the Configuration tab you choose who's allowed to submit your form. This also affects whether each response can be linked to a known customer in your inbox.

Anyone

No sign-in required — anyone with the link can respond. Responses are anonymous unless the form happens to collect an email through one of its questions.

Use this for public surveys, NPS campaigns, or any form you want to be as easy as possible to complete.

Email

The form asks respondents for an email address before they submit. You can make the email optional or required.

When a respondent provides an email, that response is automatically linked to a customer with that email address. Their answers join the rest of that customer's history, so you can see this survey alongside their other feedback, chats, and activity.

Email is the simplest way to turn anonymous responses into identified ones — a matching email links the response to a customer automatically, with no extra setup.

Signed-in users

Only people signed in to your app can respond. When you embed the form in a product where your users are already logged in, responses are tied to the signed-in user automatically — there's no need to ask for an email, and you can be confident who each response came from.

Use this for in-product surveys aimed at your existing customers.

How responses appear

However you collect them, every response becomes a feedback item in your inbox. Identified responses are attached to the matching customer; anonymous ones stand on their own. In the form's Results you can see how many responses were identified versus anonymous.
