What is a Public Portal?
A Public Portal is a branded webpage hosted at userhero.co/portal/your-slug where visitors can:
- Browse feedback - See all public feedback submissions
- Vote on ideas - Upvote feedback they support
- Add comments - Share their thoughts on existing feedback
- Submit new feedback - Contribute their own ideas (coming soon)
Key Features
Voting System
Users identify themselves with just their email and name (no account required). Their email is used to:
- Track votes (one vote per email per feedback)
- Allow unvoting if they change their mind
- Prevent spam with simple math captcha
Comments
Visitors can comment on any public feedback. Comments include:
- Author name
- Message (up to 1000 characters)
- Timestamp
Staff members can reply to comments directly from the dashboard with a "Staff" badge.
