Workspaces

A workspace is the top-level organizational unit in UserHero. It contains your projects, team members, and billing information.

Understanding Workspaces

Think of a workspace as your team or organization:

  • Agency: One workspace per client
  • Startup: One workspace for your company
  • Enterprise: Workspace per department or product line

Creating a Workspace

  1. Click the workspace switcher in the top-left
  2. Select "Create Workspace"
  3. Enter a workspace name
  4. Click Create

Your first workspace is created automatically when you sign up.

Workspace Settings

Navigate to Settings in the sidebar to manage:

General

  • Name: Change the workspace display name
  • Delete: Permanently delete the workspace and all its data

Members

Invite team members to collaborate:

  1. Go to SettingsMembers
  2. Click "Invite Member"
  3. Enter their email address
  4. Select a role
  5. Click Send Invite

Bulk Invite

For larger teams, use Bulk Invite to add multiple members at once. Click "Bulk Invite" in the Members section to open the modal.

Upload File

Upload a CSV or Excel file with your team list:

  1. Drag and drop a .csv, .xlsx, or .xls file into the drop zone, or click to browse
  2. The file is parsed automatically — email and role columns are auto-detected
  3. Review the parsed list, adjust roles, and deselect any members you don't want to invite
  4. Click Send Invites

A sample CSV file is available for download below the drop zone. The expected format:

email,role
alice@example.com,member
bob@example.com,admin
carol@example.com,viewer

The role column is optional — if omitted, all invitees default to Member.

Google Workspace

If your team uses Google Workspace, you can pull members directly from your organization directory:

  1. Click Connect Google Workspace
  2. Sign in with a Google Workspace admin account and grant directory read access
  3. Your organization members are loaded automatically
  4. Search, select the members you want to invite, and assign roles
  5. Click Send Invites

Google Workspace connection requires a Workspace admin account. Personal Google accounts (gmail.com) are not supported.

You can disconnect Google Workspace at any time from the same tab.

Switching Workspaces

If you have multiple workspaces:

  1. Click the workspace name in the top-left
  2. Select the workspace you want to switch to

Or use the keyboard shortcut: ⌘K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows) and type the workspace name.

Workspace Limits

  2. Find the member who will become owner
  3. Click the menu
  4. Select "Make Owner"
  5. Confirm the transfer

Ownership transfer is irreversible. The new owner will have full control including billing access.

Deleting a Workspace

Deleting a workspace permanently removes all projects, widgets, feedback, and data. This cannot be undone.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll to the Danger Zone
  3. Click "Delete Workspace"
  4. Type the workspace name to confirm
  5. Click Delete
