Email Notifications

Receive feedback alerts via email

Email Notifications

Get email notifications when new feedback arrives.

Setup

  1. Go to project SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find Email and click "Configure"
  3. Add email addresses to notify
  4. Choose notification preferences
  5. Save

Notification Types

Instant Notifications

Receive an email for each new feedback:

  • Includes full feedback content
  • Context (page, browser, device)
  • Custom metadata
  • Screenshot thumbnail (if available)
  • Direct link to dashboard

Digest Emails

Receive a summary instead of individual emails:

Digest includes:

  • Total feedback count
  • Breakdown by category
  • Top feedback items
  • Trends vs. previous period

Email Recipients

Add multiple team members:

  1. Click "Add Recipient"
  2. Enter email address
  3. Choose notification types for each recipient

Different recipients can have different preferences:

  • CEO: Weekly digest only
  • Support: Instant notifications
  • Product: Daily digest

Routing Rules

Send different feedback to different emails:

Email Format

Instant notification emails include:

Subject: New Feedback: Bug Report from app.example.com

New feedback received:

Managing Notifications

Unsubscribe

Each email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it removes that email from notifications.

Update Preferences

  1. Go to IntegrationsEmail
  2. Find the recipient
  3. Update their preferences
  4. Save

Spam Prevention

If emails aren't arriving:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. Add notifications@userhero.co to your contacts
  3. Whitelist the domain in your email settings

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Emails

  • Verify the email address is correct
  • Check spam/junk folders
  • Confirm the integration is enabled
  • Check routing rules aren't excluding you

Too Many Emails

  • Switch to digest mode
  • Use routing rules to filter
  • Create rules to only notify on important categories
